I Am The Wolf Myself

My name is Dolores. I was once the finest white wolf of the Moonstone Tribe, yet to everyone's eyes, I am the ridiculous “unmarked Luna.”Five years ago, at my coming-of-age ceremony, Thor, my childhood mate, proposed to my stepsister Lilith. Overnight, I became the laughingstock of the entire tribe. In that exact moment, Draco, the Alpha of the Shadow Tribe, held out his paw to me, vowing to make me his Luna.I thought it was a second chance granted by the Moon Goddess. For five years, Draco treated me with tenderness, consideration, and unwavering protection, convincing every wolf that I was the only female he favored. But right before the joint hunt, I overheard him admit he never intended to truly mark me. He kept me in the Shadow Tribe not out of love, but to stop me from returning and overshadowing Lilith. The irony ran deeper. Lilith had already become Thor's mate and carried his pups, yet she still stole the white stag I'd hunted and laid a silver-thread trap that nearly took my life. Draco knew every detail of the truth, yet he ordered me to swallow all my grievances to shield her.So I planted conclusive evidence, then faked my death by leaping from the cliff on the morning of our five-year bond anniversary. Unable to find my body, Draco finally realized there was no mate bond linking them—not even a thread to let him sense whether I lived or died.Three months later, I reappeared in the neutral territory. I stripped away Lilith's false mask with my own hands, then told Draco plainly: I accept your apology, but I will never return to your side.
