The Madame Bennett’s mysterious death reveals a final will: Layla must marry. Cole boldly proposes, and they uncover a past life as lovers from two thousand years ago—he, a general who once betrayed her. Samuel Powell, last heir of the fallen Powells, abducts them both to exact revenge. Their true love’s kiss breaks the pact, and Cole sacrifices his divine power to save her, his soul scattering into the void. Twenty-two years later, she meets his reincarnated self at his grave, their millennium-long devotion finally fulfilled.
