Married to the Dead General

Cora Jiang, the abandoned legitimate daughter of the Jiang family, faced betrayal from her fiancé Ian Xiao and her step-sister Vera Jiang on her wedding day. With a strong-willed nature, she resolutely took the memorial tablet of the late "God of War" General Arthur Xiao in the ancestral hall to marry him, entering the Duke's Estate as his fourth wife. However, Arthur—who had miraculously returned from death—lay in a coma with severe injuries, deemed unlikely to survive three months. To secure her position in the complex inner court, Cora accepted the proposal of Madam Xiao (the matriarch) to "revive fortunes through heir-bearing," taking the initiative to consummate the marriage with her comatose husband. Within the estate, she outwitted Stepmother Chu (who embezzled her dowry) and the harsh, jealous Sister-in-law Lucy, exposed Vera Jiang’s plot of faking pregnancy to frame her, and even defeated Ian Xiao (the legitimate grandson) in an archery contest, seizing the authority to manage the household. During this period, Arthur gradually awakened. From initially disdainful of her "humble background," he was drawn to her wisdom and courage. The couple joined forces to investigate a case, uncovering that Arthur’s ambush in the Northern Frontier years ago was linked to Duke Ray’s Mansion and his elder brother Paul Xiao’s embezzlement of military funds.
