Lyra Vale is offered to a fae duke to end a twenty-year war. On her wedding day, theduke rejects her in front of both kingdoms and chooses her cruel sister instead. Before the treaty collapses, Lyra invokes an ancient Moon Trial and accepts temporary protection from Dorian, the feared Shadow King.
